1. Ingredients – dosage: For 1 tube Clostridium botulinum type A toxin complex – erythrocytes agglutinin 500 units
2. Indications
Dysport is indicated in the following cases:
– Adjunctive treatment to physical therapy to reduce upper limb spasticity after stroke, bringing significant benefits to patients.
– Horse-foot deformity due to spasticity in outpatients with cerebral palsy, from 2 years of age and older, can only be injected in specialized hospitals by well-trained doctors.
– Torticollis due to muscle spasticity in adults.
– Blepharospasm in adults.
– Hemifacial spasm in adults.
– Mild to severe inter-brow wrinkles.
– The efficacy and safety of Dysport in the treatment of spastic upper limbs following stroke, torticollis, blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm in children have not been established.
3.Contraindications
– Hypersensitivity to botulinum toxin or to any of the excipients.
Precautions and precautions for use
– For the treatment of spastic torticollis and spasticity due to cerebral palsy in children, Dysport should only be administered by a specialist experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions and trained in the administration of Dysport.
– Careful consideration should be given before repeat injections are given to patients who have had a previous allergic reaction. The risk of allergy must be weighed against the benefit of treatment.
– Dysport should only be used with caution and under close supervision in patients with clinically and paraclinically significant neuromuscular transmission defects.
– Such patients may have increased sensitivity to drugs such as Dysport, which may lead to excessive muscle weakness.
4. Storage
– The shelf life of the packaged product is 12 months at 2-8°C. The product can be kept for a maximum of 8 hours at 2-8°C after reconstitution.
– Since the product does not contain a bactericidal agent, it must be used immediately after reconstitution.
– Unopened vials must be kept in a refrigerator at 2-8°C. Dysport must be stored in a hospital refrigerator and should not be given to patients for their own use.
